In my view, Trump feels like a literary creation of a wholly American character, embodying everything that is ugly and dark about America. He is so over-the-top that Trump, as a fictional character, would probably be suited for a farce or satire.

Even though the press coverage of Trump frustrates me at times, I also recognize and believe that Trump poses unique challenges to the press, challenges that aren’t easy to overcome.
