  1. Off the top of my head, some notable omissions:

    • Natasha Kai
    • Todd Crosby
    • Chad Owens
    • Suzanne Eagye
    • Teee Williams
    • Dietre Collins
    • Allen Allen
    • Angelica Lundquist
    • Gary Allen
    • Al Noga
    • Jason Elam
    • Reggie Cross (a sentimental pick)

I just learned that Natasha Kai is 36 and still playing in the pros.

    1. Natasha Kai is a good one. Tee Williams. Maybe they’d beat out Mario Monaco and AC. Elam, Al Noga, and Chad Owens are good ones, too.

Who the heck is Todd Crosby?

      1. Todd Crosby was the 2nd baseman on that Mario Monico team, and I thought he was a better player. Played on the national team and then 7 seasons in the minors, including 3 at AAA.

      1. Oh is this list only based on what they did at UH? I thought it was both at UH and after, which is why I almost immediately thought of Tunei.

  2. I wasn’t a big Ah Mow fan when she was a player. I thought she was super stoic (in a bad way). She is surprisingly animated as a coach, though. She played with Heather Bowen right? Was Kim Willoughby on that team too? I think Kim has a lot of UH’s records and I would put her higher than Ah Mow. But if you add what these guys did after UH, that would push Ah Mow higher than Kim. I think I would rather have Martina from the 80’s with Tita Ahuna. I forget her last name. I also might lean Kanoe Kamanao.

    1. Ah Mow can be aloof, but I didn’t mind it when she played at UH. For whatever reason, it seemed more of a negative for me later when she was on the Olympics team–but it wasn’t really a big deal.

I can’t remember, but she played with Angelica Ljungqvist, so I doubt she played with Bown and Willoughby . (Both were really good.)

Cincerrova (sp?). I would prefer Ah Mow over both, although I didn’t see a ton of Kamanao’s games.

  3. Add Jakob Thelle to the list. He’d probably make get the #3 spot. He might be my favorite UH player of all-time.

    1. I actually thought Joe Worsley was a better decision maker, but Thelle is definitely a better athlete (especially in terms of size).

    2. I don’t think I watched one game with Joe Worsley…so I can’t comment.

Thelle reminds me of Stein Metzger–or at least Metzger when he played against UH in that NCAA championship. Thelle’s serve is wicked as well.
